Over 11,000 visitors came to the Como Zoo and Conservatory, and many of them participated in this year's Free To Be Green activities; an interactive day of fun and learning for all — kids and grown-ups!

Participants first stopped by The CW Twin Cities booth where they collected their passports, coloring sheets, and recyclable brown bags to carry their goodies collected along the way.

Clean Air Choice and The American Lung association had fun prizes, games...

…as well as a sporty Chevy Impala fueled by cleaner burning E85 flex fuels.

Kemps had instructions on how to make your own recycled milk jug person – as well as how to paint them to glow in the dark!

Not to mention a neat blow up cow that all the kids had fun with.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency was a real hit with their button maker – kids and grown-ups colored their “Free To Be Green” statement and watched as it was turned into a button they could proudly wear.

Winning Brands demonstrated how their environmentally friendly products, available at Hirshfields, could handle the toughest of jobs.

Meanwhile, Metro Transit brought in one of their beautiful new Hybrid busses for all to tour, and they possibly may have found their bus drivers of tomorrow at the same time!

At each event, visitors had their passports stamped…

…and upon finishing, they returned back to The CW Twin Cities booth where they colored what being green meant to them. In all, 4 large paper banners were created at this year’s event and will be displayed at the 2009 Free To Be Green event.
